Notley Abbey. A Wedding Photographer’s View.

This fantastic wedding venue is conveniently only 5 miles away from us. Notley Abbey is without doubt a stunning setting for any wedding ceremony and reception.

The place is steeped in movie royalty; Vivien Leigh & Laurence Olivier once owned and lived there. Back in 1943 Notley Abbey was run down. It needed much love and attention. Vivien and Laurence (Larry) restored it to back to it’s glory. Before then, Henry V had endowed it. The Abbey has a modern interior, but echoes of the past are still notable.

Charm and understated beauty cover the building. The well tendered grounds has lots of places to inspire wedding photographers (such as yours truly) to be liberated, creative and free to experiment with natural and posed shots.

We have photographed weddings there several times, palette of light, shades and colours is a playground for us. We have not even scratched the surface of what can be uniquely photographed there and we are unashamedly keen to go there again.

Charm and understated beauty cover the building. The well tendered grounds has plenty of places to inspire wedding photographers (such as yours truly) to be liberated, creative and free to experiment with natural and posed shots. The open grounds give room for the formal photos, while the secluded areas dotted around give a more intimate canvas for the personal Bride and Groom moments. The long drive leading up to the Abbey gives a catwalk opportunity for the couple to just stroll, pose and majestically be together while we take those important romantic images to be treasured forever.

Take it from us here at Pow Pow Pictures, when you use Notley Abbey as your wedding setting, you literally become part of an amazing legacy. You will be a part of history.

Take care.
